• Merlin 1st Tries

I read so much about the Steadicam "Merlin", and after comparing it to other systems on the market, I decided to buy this nifty little pro-gadget, which is so pretty lightweight and makes so much fun.

Here are my very first attempts to get a flying camera.
Unfortunately my 7D is still at the service (broken body;), so I put the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ38 on it.

It´s essential to balance it perfectly (which is done in a couple of minutes). Once adjusted and leveled you just need a calm hand and a good tactics to lead the Merlin its way.

It´s really remarkable, how calm and stable the Merlin was, while driving our old Mini Cooper.
The Mini is hard, rough and it´s making noises all the way. It jumps over the street like a bouncy ball, but the Merlin rocked it!

Obviously I need much more training on this, as it´s still a lot tumbling, but time will bring the desired skills:)
(The lighter the camera, the harder it get´s, to move the little sorcerer)

    Love this thingy :)
